Wait, maybe this is more of a scoopazo! Kroll Inc. will deliver its long-awaited $20 million report at 8 a.m. on Aug. 8 at a special meeting of the City Council.

Benito Romano, Kroll’s lawyer, gave the news to Mayor Jerry Sanders and Council President Scott Peters.

I write on behalf of the City of San Diego Audit Committee (“Audit Committee”) to advise you that the Audit Committee has completed its investigation of the San Diego City Employees’ Retirement System, the City of San Diego Sewer Rate Structure, and related matters (the “Report”) and is prepared to issue its Report to the City Council and the Mayor, by delivery of the same to the City Council Chambers when we make a presentation to the City Council at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006.

Interesting tidbit: Romano says the audit committee will not be answering questions at that time. (Update: I’m being corrected. The letter actually says “…the Audit Committee intends to confine its remarks to the content of the Report and will not respond to any other questions at that time.” That apparently means Romano et. al. will answer questions.)
