Monday, Aug. 14, 2006 | Re: Andrew Donohue‘s article about the Kroll report. The deliberate ignorance and misleads from many of our past and present politicians … A city employee pension and health plan that would have made J. David Dominelli envious … The understated debt approaching $2 Billion … The police issues.

There seems no foreseeable end to the financial misfortunes our city faces, and obviously no civic leader with a solution.

I, for one, applaud the actions of Don Bauder, Diann Shipione, Mike Aguirre, and Donna Frye, among few others who put the citizens and future of San Diego first. I also believe the issue of bankruptcy should be on the table as the nearly insurmountable debt rises exponentially.

Let’s hope that one day San Diego can again stake its claim as “America’s Finest City” instead of its present title of “America’s Fiscal Pity”
