OK, I know this is a blog about local politics but I took a little break to read about sports and came across this professional eulogy to Junior Seau by the Nick Canepa in the U-T.

Here’s how it leads:

You probably would have to go back 2,000 years, to the Middle East fields, to find a football player who could be everywhere at once. Junior Seau tried. His unpredictability was his charm, and it made him magic. He was an illusionist.

Maybe I’m not up on my 1st Century gridiron trivia but did he just reference Jesus as a football player in a column about Junior Seau?
