Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006 | As if it weren’t shameless enough already, a former payroll clerk who recently retired as the MEA president, has apparently anointed herself general manager for the MEA. For the record, the general manager post has been vacant for more than twenty years. This begs the question, why now? The MEA seems to have done very well without a general manager all those years. Why now do they suddenly need one? Can the MEA really afford the $120,000 GM salary, including a new car with all the perks? Our fine city may be experiencing a financial crisis, apparently not a problem for the MEA. Maybe I’ll put my next job in layaway too…
