Friday, Sept. 15, 2006 | I just sat there and shook my head this morning reading your article about the downtown library. I have wondered for years why officials continue to push forward with plans for a central monolithic structure for $150 million or more. Why not take all of that money and distribute it equitably amongst all libraries in San Diego county? You need only look at the library in Cardiff to understand what a tremendous asset it is to the community. The object would be to get county residents into the library, not build memorials to public officials with taxpayers money.

But what do I know?
