The City Council delegated its authority to CCDC for reviewing the redevelopment plans of Navy Broadway Complex, as the city attorney opined Friday, but CCDC President Nancy Graham assured the council today that they will still have some part in the giving the waterfront property a facelift.

The city will still be responsible for maintaining and designing the 1.9-acre public park that is slated for the north end of the property, Graham said. The development agreement states that the Navy will lease the park to the city for 65 years.

Graham said the city will also have oversight of the 41,000 square-feet of museum space that is slated to be parsed out between two buildings in the Doug Manchester’s plans.
