Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006 | Thanks for Rich Toscano’s clear comparison of fees, returns and relative security of a $100,000 investment in a hedge fund like Amaranth versus a one-year certificate of deposit.

With friends like the existing board in charge of San Diego County’s retirement funds, local pensioners don’t need enemies. And county custodians won’t even be able to get whatever investment funds might remain until four years hence? Incredible. Scandalous.

In Japan, people would be apologizing and resigning left and right.
