Monday, Oct. 23, 2006 | I hope those that were able to attend the congressional press conference Thursday October 19 at Spanish Landing near Lindbergh International Airport noticed how un-busy Lindbergh was during the conference.
I spent over an hour at Spanish Landing and wished I had counted the departures. If there were more than 10 I’d be surprised. Even if that doubles in 25 years it amounts to only about one departure every three minutes.
This is hardly worth the high and unknown costs of moving the Marines, relocating two freeways, and all the other off airport infrastructures, which can not be paid for using airport taxes.
Also, remember Thella Bowens of SDCRAA has stated in the U-T that they don’t know where the runways will be located. Which means the SDCRAA does not know the costs!
