You’ll remember a while ago I did some shameless speculating about who will be running to replace Jim Madaffer in District 7 of the San Diego City Council.

A few phone calls here and there and I’m finally ready to ponder the fate of another district. The race to replace Toni Atkins in District 3 is forming.

Todd Gloria, district director for U.S. Rep. Susan Davis, told me he is definitely running – as did Stephen Whitburn, the president of the San Diego Democratic Club. Adrian Kwiatkowski, a political consultant with the Monger Co., has said he is seriously considering a run for the position but hasn’t yet made up his mind.

Gloria even has a website up, but because none of them can legally start raising and spending money on the campaign for a while, it’s just about his desire to “connect with the community.”

Next up, District 5.
