The Chargers today told Oceanside Mayor Jim Wood that their initial review of a city-own golf course determined the 75-acre lot was a potentially viable location for a new stadium.
In a letter, team president Dean Spanos wrote:
… we are eager to begin discussions with you, the members of the Oceanside City Council, and the people of Oceanside about the possibility of a new stadium in your city.
The parties first met Jan. 2 and consultants for the Chargers have been studying the site since then.
