Jerry Hunt inquired about the Chula Vista Marina Complex:
I’ve been looking for the scoop and the schedule for the CVMP. When it’s scheduled to be complete? Is there a real estate agent for the condos? Any info would be helpful.
I believe Jerry is referring to components of the 550-acre Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan, a joint undertaking of the Port of San Diego, the city of Chula Vista and
Pacifica Companies. The groups hope to incorporate parkland, open space, office and retail space, hotels, entertainment areas and perhaps some 2,000 waterfront condos in an expansive three-phase redevelopment project expected to run the course of 25 years. Voiceofsandiego.org’s Evan McLaughlin did an explainer story in December and an update on discord over the project just this week.
Marguerite Elicone with the Port of San Diego says it’s too early in the process to know which developers will be handling condo construction. Public review for the draft environmental impact report just concluded on Jan. 11.
More details on the plan can be found here on the city of Chula Vista’s website and the Port of San Diego’s website, which offers a breakdown of the proposed plan here.
To those of you who have passed along other questions, I’ll see what I can do to get them answered.
