Monday, March 5, 2007 | I didn’t like the mayor having any control whatsoever over Torell’s work as an auditor. And I surely don’t like the mayor’s intention of privatizing the work city workers have been doing. No question in my mind but that privatizing will lead to the kind of situation that Walter Reed Hospital is now in, having allowed a former Halliburton chief in to run the place into the ground, to the detriment of our wounded troops. More, privatizing doesn’t save money … it costs much more. Lousy idea.
