Councilman Jim Madaffer listed ownership of three stocks and a local newspaper in his annual statement of economic interest.

Madaffer reported that his household is the sole proprietor of the Mission Times Courier, which serves several eastern San Diego communities in his district, and that the paper generates between $10,000 and $100,000 in income for his spouse, editor Sally Ortega Madaffer. We profiled the newspaper last summer.

The councilman also listed stakes in XTEN Networks, Sirus Satellite Radio and Applied Micro Circuits Corp.

Madaffer also disclosed owning a property on Mission Gorge Road, which lies within his council district, which he rents out for more than $10,000 a year. Also, he reported that his wife is employed by U.S. Airways.
