Tuesday, May 29, 2007 | This past Sunday The San Diego Union-Tribune had a very wordy article about our chief of police.

I opine that this was a PR piece attempting to offset the adverse comments initiated through his own misstatements concerning the state of law enforcement in San Diego.

I believe this COP is a bumble, a egocentric personality that should be taken to task for his inept performance.

What really struck me was the information that this person receives $160,000 per year from San Jose, California. His salary as chief of police of San Diego is about $175,000 per annum. This is absolutely mind boggling.

It would have been a lot more informative had the U-T provided current, up-to-date data of just what he has accomplished here other than losing over 200 expensively trained police officers.
