Here are the policy issues that Sunroad raises that need to be addressed:

  • Development Agreements: Are we negotiating the best development agreements that maximize benefits for the community? We need to evaluate our negotiation team, approval process and language in the deals.
  • Project Reviews: At what point do we pull the trigger and ask for discretionary public review? There has to be a system of checks and balances so that the burden is not solely on Development Services to challenge developer requests.
  • Amendments to previous deals: Are we prey to a game of bait-and-switch as projects change? There has to be a review of transferability and successor language in our deals, especially if the project changes substantially.
