Here’s a sign of the seriousness of wildfire conditions: Cal Fire has suspended all residential burn permits in San Diego County.
The permits allow homeowners to burn such things as piled brush, vegetation and tree trimmings.
Camp fires are still allowed in designated campgrounds, but they’re prohibited in residential settings. Cal Fire spokeswoman Roxanne Provaznik said the state agency wants to eliminate the backyard fires as a potential cause of a “large, damaging fire.”
