I want to thank everyone for participating in today’s discussion. I appreciated your comments on this complex issue.

I remain committed to addressing the long-term water needs of the state and region. To that end, I want to pursue the most cost-effective solutions that increase water conservation and water re-use, in addition to expanding surface storage and desalinization. None of these methods alone is the “silver bullet,” but when taken in combination they bring us closer to meeting the region’s needs.

San Diego has a great record of responding to droughts and other water supply challenges, and I believe our region will be successful in meeting our goal.
