Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008 | Peters states he might run for city attorney. This means that two of the council people who are at the root cause of the city’s financial situation are running for another city-elected office. I believe that the voting patterns, comments, and actions of these two people do not warrant either running for any office. They, along with the other three, have been found negligent in the performance of their duties. This shows a pattern of lack of responsibility and integrity for both. Through their actions, they have wasted public money (like supporting the Vinson & Elkins hiring) to a level which has caused a lack of services to occur in the city. They both say they are victims of bad advice and counsel… hogwash. They knew exactly what they were doing, and for a number of years attempted to hide it. These two individuals have been bathing at the public trough for so long that they think it is their money and the public does not have a say in what should occur. No one should vote for either of these people. Vote for anyone else, but not them.
