Those of you whose eyes are like eagles’ may have noticed the little gray letters atop the headline for my story Monday about the real estate market in Carmel Valley: THE NEIGHBORHOOD MARKET.
Just wanted to introduce you to the series, to which we plan to contribute occasional looks at micro-markets and neighborhoods around the county.
Here’s our reasoning: We know it’s tricky to tell the story of the housing market on a county level. We know the data often appears vague when it includes stats from Chula Vista and Carmel Valley and Oceanside and Descanso. And so, like in the Carmel Valley story and in some of the work I’ve done about downtown San Diego, we’re hoping to stop in on some markets, hear from the real estate pros and home buyers and sellers on the streets there, and through it all assemble a mosaic of the San Diego housing scene.
Several of you have been clamoring for a look at housing at the beaches, specifically Pacific and Mission. As always, I’d love to hear from you about how we can better our coverage, and I’m especially seeking ideas for this series. If you know a neighborhood market that needs illuminating or had some thoughts to share, let me know by clicking my name below to send me an e-mail.
