Brian Maienschein today announced the endorsement of Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Vista.
Issa represents the 49th district, which blankets a large swath of North County, extends into Riverside and also bleeds over the northern boundaries of the city of San Diego, where Maienschein has built his political base as a city councilman.
Issa is popular in the largely Republican district. He’s won by at least 27 percentage points in each of the last three elections.
