As the school board race for District A begins, John Lee Evans appears to have a head start on incumbent Mitz Lee in fundraising, according to March campaign disclosures. Between January and March 17, Evans raised $7,146 compared to Lee’s $4,268. He also spent more during that time period, shelling out $3,332.08 compared to Lee’s $1,664.02.

Lee said she has spent little time campaigning thus far after dropping her bid for City Council in December. Her contributors included San Diego Unified Community Relations Director Janet Delaney and Administrators Association executive director Jeannie Steeg. Evans gathered contributions from a number of fellow psychologists.
