I just got a look at the snazzy new user-friendly budget that San Diego Unified has been developing over the past year. At first gloss, the draft is vastly more understandable than the clunky budget that my predecessor Vlad Kogan wrote about last summer. It explains the different funds that San Diego Unified divides its money into and why, and provides information on individual school budgets as well as specific programs, such as physical education, special education and transportation.

So far I’ve only seen the wunderbudget on paper, but I’ll post a digital copy as soon as I can.
