Ever since I put up this post last week, which led to this story today, I have been receiving e-mails from readers who have been receiving spam from candidates in various local races.
I’ve also received a few e-mails from people who said they are fed up with receiving Councilman Jim Madaffer’s e-mail newsletter.
Three readers e-mailed me to say they have no idea how they ended up on Madaffer’s e-mail list. I can add my name to that list. I recently started getting Madaffer’s eNewsletter and I have no idea how I got on the list. I certainly never signed up for it.
Reader H.B. said she’s fed up.
This e-mail is more (longer) than anyone needs to receive. The link to unsubscribe does not work. Even though he says it is not paid for with City funds. The website referred to, JimMadaffer.com, is identical to his sandiego.gov website.
Interestingly, Madaffer is the only politician who’s not running for office who I received e-mails about.
