Tuesday, July 8, 2008 |Here we go again. The Redevelopment Agencies are truly past their expiration date, and/or they need to be audited and the findings made transparent to the public. Perhaps, once, they had a function, but it is clear that the City’s fiscal plight, the backroom dealings that are still part of the various agencies’ actions, and the refusal of Mayor Sanders to require more realistic payment schedule are evidence that San Diego’s “Exxon by the Sea” alter ego is still alive, kicking, and well-fed. I suppose a few of those myriad heads will roll, the email record will selectively disappear and we’ll all have forgotten another bloated bonus story within a week! Isn’t Carolyn Smith already under investigation?
