Do you think all that fascist boosterism and flat-out lying caught up with the paper? Maybe printing something approximating the truth would have held on to readers? I’m thinking of subjects ranging from 9/11 to the San Diego stadium debacle, the marvelously stark corruption that laps at the waterline of our fair city like the tide.
