Help us reach our goal of $250,000. The countdown is on!

Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008 | I have a suggestion that could quickly and efficiently resolve the problems associated with trying to figure out who is hob-knobbing with the City Council — paid or unpaid.

Why not simply require that elected officials publish their calendars of official duties? This could be automated to be done once a month, say 30 days after each month has ended.

That way, anyone could look and see who met with whom, and exactly how each politician’s time is being spent on the public’s dime. As in: “If you’re working on our dime, then we should see how you spend your time!”
