Not too long ago, I was racing to moderate a panel discussion when something occurred to me. I’ve been speaking a lot at these great open discussions around town. Post-election talks are always the most fun.
We realized it’s about time we put on some events of our own.
On Nov. 12, we’ll be hosting a panel discussion “The Election and the Future of San Diego Politics.”
If you have time, please come and join the discussion.
I’ll be moderating and the speakers are: Jennifer Tierney, a political consultant who’s running Sherri Lightner and Todd Gloria’s campaign for City Council; Tom Shepard, who’s been the brains behind many a successful political campaign in San Diego, including the mayor’s June re-election; Will Carless has covered the city attorney’s race for some time now for us — his profiles of the primary candidates were excellent and he’s had to take serious flak from both sides and yet done an impressive job; and Andrew Donohue, who’s overseen all our election news coverage.
Again, this is open to all you politics junkies and observers and everyone else. We’re an entertaining bunch, and if you’d like to get some observations about what happened with the election and some insights about what to look for in coming years, stop by.
We’ll be hosting the event at this address:
NTC Command Center at Liberty Station
Meeting Room 1
2640 Historic Decatur Rd.
San Diego, CA 92106
Again, it’s Nov. 12, at 6 p.m.
