Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008|Could someone explain to me how the removal of “200 fire rings” around Mission Bay saves the city any money? Is this just another example of a bureaucrat in the parks department trying to cut any service to the people in an attempt to get “screams,” “calls” from disgruntled tax papers to demand more money to the parks department? After a drive around Mission Bay any given morning, and seeing the multitude of city workers standing, sitting, doing nothing in city vehicles, I suggest the parks department could be reduced by at least 10 percent with no change in services. This of course assumes the remaining city workers actually work during their hours of “labor.”
