City Attorney Mike Aguirre and two top deputies, criminal division head Chris Morris and civil litigation head Maria Severson are founding a law form together.
Morris told me he just handed in his resignation letter and that he, Aguirre and Severson will be founding a firm that will focus on complex civil litigation. Aguirre already has some leads on large, complex cases deriving from credit default swaps and derivatives, Morris said.
Before he became a politician, Aguirre had a long and storied career as a civil litigator, which I chronicled in this story about his career as a lawyer.
