Chula Vista Volunteerism

Monday, March 1, 2009 | Thanks for the nice article about John Willett. He has been a “volunteer at large” in Chula Vista for as long as any of us can remember, and he really does care about his community. We served together on the city’s Parks & Recreation Commission almost 20 years ago, and he hasn’t slowed down a bit. I’ve seen his real tangible results in the Otay River Valley, and he has, along with Steve Palma and others, made a major difference. Thanks for telling a terrific story, not forcing a political angle to it. The “spirit of volunteerism” is shared by thousands of Chula Vistans. Thanks again.
