Tuesday, July 7, 2009 | I would like to see more media pressure on this matter. The only way the Sheriff’s office will do what is right is if they are placed in the spotlight. I’m sure that enough digging by an “eager-to-shine” reporter will unearth a great deal of information about the Sheriff’s Department and the officer involved. San Diego is a vibrant city with wonderful beaches and an unrivaled climate; but San Diego has the potential of being a transforming force in Southern California — if only more people sought to be part of a progressive force. It is amazing that even today, when we hear about unfair electoral practices around the world, we experience not so dissimilar practices in the land that helped shape the current definition of democracy. This behavior burdens the entire country with shame, not just the heckler and the Sheriff’s office.
