Wednesday, July 29, 2009 | I care much less about water use by individuals in city government than I do about the approval of large development projects with only a pro forma nod to the long-time availability of water for all these new residents. I have seen the city address this crucial issue by waltzing in a water official without evidence to assure us that all will be well long after all the current crop of city officials have left the scene.

I don’t care about how much water Ms. Emerald or Mr. Demaio use at home nearly as much as I care about our approach to development and I hope that is true of other VOSD readers as well. It may be a more difficult story to write and may be less sexy but there is no doubt it would be exceedingly more relevant than VOSD’s periodic updates of individual’s water use.
