School board member Katherine Nakamura, a staunch supporter of Superintendent Terry Grier, said that he called her today to tell her that he was speaking with the Houston Independent School District about a position.

He had first spoken with her about the possibility a few months ago.

“I’m at a loss for words,” she said. “I think it’s a black eye for San Diego, we can’t keep a superintendent for longer than 18 months.”
