Just a quick plug: If you’re interested in the dropout rate and how well schools prepare kids for life beyond high school, you may want to come to the Breakfast Club Forum that the county Taxpayers Association is putting on tomorrow. I’ll be moderating the event, which features parent leader David Page, former principal Glenn Hillegas, career technical education czarina Virginia Eves and Manpower exec Phil Blair, among others.

We’ll be talking about where the system falls short and how it could do better at keeping kids in school. If I do my job right, there will even be time for questions from the audience. The event runs from 7:30am to 9am at the Town and Country resort in Mission Valley. Check here for more details.
