Whether as a reporter or a photographer, I’ve covered every State of the City address of Mayor Jerry Sanders’ administration. That means that I’m constantly trying to better my coverage from the previous year.
Last year, I shot this audio slideshow, after being allowed some behind the scenes access. This year, I pushed for even more and was allowed to be by the mayor’s side from the time he arrived at the theater until he took the stage.
Here’s a chronological look at the night. I even make a cameo in one of the frames, wearing a tie for the first time on assignment in years.
