Sometimes you stroll into a portrait shoot only to find a visual bonanza in someone’s home.

Such was the case when I photographed Nancy Caciola for last week’s Q&A.

It also helped that Caciola had a lot of interesting things to discuss. She’s a history professor at the University of California, San Diego who specializes in possession and witches and all kinds of juicy subjects.

She’d decorated her house beautifully, so we moved around, shooting in different rooms of the house. My favorite was the funky pink walls:
