This edition of Fact Check TV in partnership with NBC7 San Diego examines two erroneous claims about the proposed ballot measure to replace pensions with a 401(k)-style plan for more new city employees. Proponents mistakenly asserted in a fact sheet that the measure would impose strict limits on pensionable compensation. Evan McLaughlin, political director of the San Diego-Imperial Counties Labor Council, incorrectly claimed that proponents inflated cost savings by including a pension benefit that have already been eliminated.
