The Union-Tribune’s Matthew Hall tweeted the sad news today that local businessman Bob Sinclair has died in a New Mexico hospital following a motorcycle accident.

Santa Fe Sheriffs Lieutenant Joe McLaughlin confirmed that a Robert Sinclair passed away Saturday at St. Vincent’s Regional Medical Center.

On July 27, the 68-year-old Sinclair lost control of his motorcycle, a red 1985 Ducati, and was thrown from the bike, McLaughlin said.

I knew Sinclair from a warm, welcoming tour he gave me and reporter Liam Dillon around his property in East Village, the Wonder Bread building. It’s under consideration as a site for a new Chargers football stadium.

If you have any memories you’d like to share of Sinclair, please add them in the comments section of this post. For now, here are some pictures, most previously unpublished, remembering Sinclair.
