San Diegans packed Balboa Theatre on Wednesday night to see mayoral candidates Bob Filner and Nathan Fletcher square off in a debate about some of the city’s most pressing issues.

I followed the candidates through the evening, as Fletcher made last-minute preparations in the green room, and as Filner arrived just moments before the debate was set to start.
