It is said that in its heart, America is a center-right nation. So as we evaluate the motivation and intent of several well-heeled businessmen bankrolling their move-to-the-middle campaign, no pun intended, one is reminded of that old saying, “Something stinks in Denmark.”

Make no mistake, I completely respect these folks’ entrepreneurial genius but the power of the purse talks and the media listen. Where is the undistinguished class among them? Where are the janitors, gardeners, caregivers and the like? Are their voices heard in Voice of San Diego? Where is the disparate income distribution of this so-called movement to the middle? It all seems so tragic and contrived.

Do these captains of industry really give a damn about who I am and my underclass friends?
