From the Reporter
The Issue
San Diego hoteliers want to continue charging guests an extra fee on their bills for another 40 years without a public vote.
What’s New
To address legal complications, hoteliers want to force every visitor property in San Diego, including vacation rentals, to charge the fee for the first time. The small properties won’t have much of a say in the matter.
Secret Vote
Like the Convention Center expansion tax election, hoteliers want to keep the number of votes each company has in the election secret.
