In a recent interview about his campaign for San Diego mayor, Congressman Bob Filner downplayed a 2007 incident with an airport baggage clerk that led to charges of misdemeanor assault and battery.
“That thing which occurred at Dulles airport was a complete fraud made up by the lady in question,” Filner said. “She never appeared in court. The court threw it out. And that was the end of that.”
