The Morning Report
Get the news and information you need to take on the day.
First there were four. Then two. And finally, at long last, one.
No, we’re not talking about attendees at Chargers games, fans of the so-called “Kiss” statue at the waterfront or surviving koi in Balboa Park’s lily pond. The numbers refer to the candidates in the race for mayor, which dominated the local political scene in 2012.
But a whole lot more happened over the past year in our fair city and county. How much do you remember? Find out by taking the third annual VOSD End of the Year News Quiz.
While we’ve reported on all the topics here, we’d like to see how much you know from memory or deduction. Please don’t search our archives or the Internet to find the answers.
As always, fabulous prizes are at stake. The first person to enter with the most correct answers will win a Cohn Restaurant Group gift card for $20. The second place winner will receive the January Voice Monthly, and the third-place winners will get a VOSD tee.
To play, click on this link. The deadline is Friday, Jan. 4.
The fine print: Journalists are ineligible to play, as are current and former paid contributors to VOSD.
One more thing: We regularly publish members-only news quizzes. The prizes are nifty, and players get to match wits with the most intelligent and good-looking folks in town.
