U.S. Attorney Laura Duffy effectively shut down more than 200 medical marijuana dispensaries across San Diego County with a series of letters threatening prosecution.

More than a year later, Mayor Bob Filner and other city officials have announced plans to work on a new city ordinance that accommodates dispensaries.
