We haven’t been running the numbers updates because they move too quickly to keep up with, but this one seems like quite a milestone: the county just announced that about 513,000 people in San Diego County have received mandatory evacuation orders and an additional 12,000 people have received advisory evacuations.

The county’s total popluation: 2,941,454 as of 2006, according to the Census.
