Tuesday, April 05, 2005 | While the city of San Diego struggles with the unwanted distinction of an enormous pension fund liability, at the same time, its investment returns have been exceptional, according to the March issue of Institutional Investor magazine, a well-respected financial publication.

McCalla’s strategy has focused on developing a new approach to balancing the types of assets held by the pension fund and to choosing outside money managers.
