Imperial Beach’s water is clean again, according to the county’s Department of Environmental Health. It closed over the weekend, but reopened Sunday.

Border Field State Park’s water isn’t so clean, the DEH says. That’s been the case since a rainfall on May 22. Three days later, 13 million gallons of sewage-tainted runoff were still pouring into the Tijuana Estuary from the Tijuana River.

Nearby Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge, which sits on the north side of the river mouth, has been closed since Feb. 21. We wrote about that last week.
