Tuesday, June 6, 2006 | The airport authority has wasted millions of dollars, lots of time. They are like the guy who dreams of the pretty blonde and can’t see that she is already taken.

We all agree that Miramar is a large centrally located site, but their job was to find a suitable replacement /alternative to Lindbergh Field. By putting Miramar as the only suitable replacement site, they have done us a disservice. They should have focused on non-military sites. If east county, Ramona, or the desert was the best alternative, then that spot should have been the pick. They have followed a path which will lead to nowhere.

Without picking a viable alternative San Diego will wait and wait until any other possible sites are developed for other things. Twenty years down the road San Diego will be complaining about the failures of previous leaders in their failure to replace Lindbergh Field.
