Thursday, June 15, 2006 | Michael Grant describes a logical way the Airport Authority could easily create two runways on the existing Lindbergh Field site. You could also put the existing Harbor Drive into a ditch and create a deck over it, which would give you three parallel runways on the existing site.

Lindbergh Field could adequately serve this community for another 100 years. The only reason the Airport Authority is trying to move the airport to Miramar is to clear the way for downtown development interests to demolish Lindbergh Field and pave it over with new hotels and condominium towers. Anyone who tells you different is probably lying.
