Monday, July 10, 2006 | I had a chance to read the article written by Dr. Cohen, Superintendent of San Diego City Schools, and I would like to congratulate him on his first year on a very challenging position. As a parent as well as an employee for the city schools in San Diego, I understand the challenges that we are faced ahead, and I say “we” because it involves each in every one of us in the community. I am proud and honored to know that an individual like Dr. Cohen with his expertise and the expertise and talents of his new hired assistant superintendents will be working to better the lives and future of our America.

Helen Keller said “Alone we can do so little – Together we can do so much.” I believe we can use all of our individual expertise, whether a teacher, a parent, a principal, a counselor, or any title that may be attached to us, we each have something to offer. And let us not forget that together is Power. I am looking forward to the wonderful new beginning!
